CP Rail-Sturtevant to Kansasville, WI

Operating Remnant of Former Milwaukee Road SW Line

Kansasville, WI, is the western end of operations on the CP Rail branch from Sturtevant, WI, where is serves an FS farm dealer. Kansasville was unique for having a pair of operating wig-wag crossing signals until 2004 when simple crossbucks finally replaced them.

On a grey November afternoon in 2001, a CP Rail train heads east back to Sturtevant with empties from the FS dealer in town. The wig-wag signal warns motorists on Highway 75 to be careful much as it has done for many decades. To the left of the train is the location of the former Milwaukee Road passenger station.

NEW! Watch cars beat the train on Highway 11 just east of Kansasville.
